This is particularly useful if your wearing clothes instead of armour because clothes weigh virtually nothing, so can easily have multiple 'sets' in your inventory that you can switch to when the situation requires. You won't need any of the perks that reduce casting costs because it's free to cast anyway. If you've taken the 'extra effect' perk you can cast 2 magic schools for free on each set you make. Why spend 3 perks to deal 18 bleed damage when your axe does about 800 anyway?įor block the whole skill tree is useful when using a shield, but only the right hand side of the tree is useful if using a 2 handed weapon.įor a mage build you can save perks if you make armour/clothing sets that reduce casting by 100%. The same goes for the perk stacks like 'hack and slash' or similar, you won't need any of those. The weapon skills I never take the special moves like 'critical charge' etc because they're difficult to pull off and if you've follwed the above advice your weapons will do so much damage that the extra damage inflicted by these attacks will be almost completely negligable. In terms of the specific builds you requested, all the sneak perks are useful for an assassin and a theif (even theives will need to kill at some point in Skyrim) Fortify smithing would be Glowing Mushroom and Blisterwort. The most common fortify enchanting ingredients are Blue Butterfly Wing and Snowberries.

Obviously you will need a lot of grand souls which can be bought from wizards or a common creature that have them are mammoths. This combined with fortifying weapon skills on your armour you can achieve insane amounts of damage. With the new armour equipped and drinking a potion you can upgrade your armour and weapons by a huge amount. I find the best way to start is make a set of fortify smithing gear as well as fortify smithing potions with the armour you just made. Then use this these potions to make some epic enchantments on your gear. The end result should be potions that fortify enchanting by 32%.

Once created equip the set and then make some fortify enchanting potions.ĭrink the potions while you create a second more powerful set of fortify alchemy gear. For this part anything will do, I use leather and silver jewellery, but make sure you always use grand souls for the enchanting.

This combination will allow you to make heavily enchanted gloves, helmet, ring and amulet that fortifies your alchemy skill. If taking smithing just get the required perks for what type of weapons/armour you intend to use. Except maybe not smithing for a pure mage if have no intention of using a physical weapon or armour. My advice would be whichever class you're playing on legendary make sure you get alchemy, enchanting and smithing up to 100 as soon as possible.
